I live and practice in Corrales, New Mexico with my best friend, partner and wife, Caryl. Our home also includes Bodhisattva, our Siamese, and Lucy our miniature poodle. Our laying hens are visited by roadrunners, quail, bunnies and the occasional coyote. So, life abounds here in Corrales, the horse capital of New Mexico.
We are blessed by our two daughters, Ariane, with husband, Chris, who live in Berthoud, Colorado, with our two grandsons, Dillon and Aiden. Our daughter, Katie and partner, Markus live in Denver. Our son, Mitchell and his wife Valerie live in Melissa, Texas, who are blessed with Cameron, Kaleigh and Keaton. Our adult children, spouses and grandchildren are truly the greatest joys of our lives. Caryl and I are active in the Village of Corrales as members and volunteers with the Corrales Cultural Arts Council / Music in Corrales concert series. We enjoy the great outdoors to include gardening, camping and travel, photography, backpacking and hiking and cross-country skiing. I also became licensed in 1996 as a commercial hot air balloon pilot and flight instructor flying for over 20 years. It's interesting to me in comparing the parallels between flying and medicine: both a wonderful and challenging blend of science and art. |
I support microloans around the world through Kiva.org. I also support Doctors Without Borders and the International Campaign for Tibet. I am also a member of the Sierra Club. I also perform volunteer work as as member of the Corrales bosque patrol and I have provided volunteer services to the Mayor of Corrales. I believe that it is important to bring local and greater action to my words and to strive to make a positive difference in the world we all live in. As Mahatma Gandhi simply but profoundly said, "You must be the change you wish to see in the world."
